1.900 km Baltic Sea coastline and the largest Central European lake and river district shaped the whole country of Mecklenburg- Western Pomerania.

During the Hanseatic League prosperity developed. Cities as Wismar, Rostock and Stralsund  tell about this aera back in the past.        

Tourism started back in the 19^th century when royal seaside resorts developed and the German emperor spent his holiday on the islands “Ruegen” and “Usedom”.  Nowadays the highest concentration of wellness and beaty hotels and resorts is found in Mecklenburg – Western Pomerania.
